I had an alternative use for the product but it didn't perform as I had hoped. I actually wanted to use it as a sort of "hook" so I could just set my key ring on it and keep my keys readily accessible. The part where the brake cable would go through is really a tad too small and the angle of the legs and other metal parts makes using it there not a good plan. I also tried putting the small part on the metal basket I purchased. While the small opening (the one for the brake cable) fits well, it's too far out of the way and too low on the device to make it a good location for my keys. I'm keeping it, though, in case I can figure out something to do with it. I used a large looped zip tie to clip my keys to and it's working great.
